Russell Bowyer, MD of Custom World Fitted Furniture, joined other business owners and dignitaries at Superior Seals to meet HRH The Earl of Wessex.
The event was to discuss the role employers can play with regards to Reservists and listened to Brigadier Tony Dalby-Welsh (the Chief Executive of Wessex Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association) explain the important role organisations play.
The Government is set to increase the number of Reservists, which form part of the UK’s defense and they are keen to get the message out there and inform businesses about what is involved with a Reservist as an employee.
HRH The Earl of Wessex also spoke at the event and then spoke individually to each person that attended, showing both his understanding of Reservists and the impact on businesses.
The number of reservists is set to increase to around 30,000 nationally, which will mean that many businesses across the UK are likely to be impacted by the change.
Russell is keen to show his support of this, but at present Custom World do not employ any Reservists making of fitting their fitted furniture, but this may well change in the future, should the opportunity arise.
